We’ve been to places searching for bars that funk the beat, awaken
the soul, groove whenever it feels like and at the same time serve
cocktails with fruity flavour.......and this is what we found:
Music is awful, service sucks, people are miserable, drinks are
plain water! SERIOUSLY NONE OF THIS IS TRUE!!
ONE
OF THE BEST AND FRIENDLIEST MUSIC BARS IN ATHENS! WE'VE BEEN THERE
AND DEFINITELY WE'LL GO BACK AGAIN !!!!
Salsa, Reggaeton, Conga, Son Montuno,
Afro-Rumba!!! Every night at the top of the steps alongside Iglesia
Parroquial de la Santisima, in the open air, live music and dancing.
ONE
OF THE MOST ENJOYABLE PLACES WE'VE EVER BEEN!!
The
live music will surely conjure up images of the Buena Vista Social
Club with its lively and fast-paced jazz, rumba, salsa, and son
beats coming from a mix of horn, percussion and string instruments.
Enthusiastic singers belt out lyrics in Spanish while simultaneously
beckoning the crowd—an eclectic mix of both foreigners and locals—to
join the dance floor!!! Don't forget to order Bucanero, the finest
beer in Cuba!!!
From
the outskirts of Tokyo, from the most unknown prefecture in the country,
comes the most exciting and brightest hopes in funk ever. The six-piece
phenomenon, the nasty groove-making cats, the deep-dapping and history
changing dogs call themselves the Mountain Mocha Kilimanjaro.
Since the release of their first 7-inch
single, "Bullfrog Boogaloo," in 2001, the Diplomats of Solid Sound have been
mining America's vast deposits of soul music to create a sound all their own
-- a spare-but-spicy groove sired equally by progenitors such as Booker T.,
James Brown and The Funk Brothers.
In the short decade he recorded and
performed (1966-78), guitarist Ivan "Boogaloo Joe" Jones never
really got his due as an exciting, rapid-fire R & B plecterist. His
sound and style clearly derived from the blues. But it was a solid
understanding of rock that Jones brought to his style of jazz.

club scene and soon signed to Cooltempo as acid jazz replaced rare
groove in clubs.
